Overview

Job Summary

Wakely, an HMA company, is currently seeking to hire a Consulting Actuary with Medicare Part D experience to join our Actuarial team. If you have your ASA or FSA credentials, 3-8 years of healthcare actuarial experience, strong communication and organizational skills, are current on government regulation and guidance in the healthcare industry, and have solid analytic techniques and methodologies, please apply as a Consulting Actuary with us. Client management experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

A Consulting Actuary will be responsible for supporting Wakely’s strategic growth by learning about new business development and product opportunities. In addition, the position will work to effectively apply the principals of project management and client relations.

 

What you will do:

  • Maintain client relationships
  • Implement initiatives for Wakely products, tools and services through training and regular meetings
  • Create and communicate a project plan to include scope, goals, timelines and billed hours
  • Project Management - Manage, adjust and communicate plan internally/externally throughout project
  • New Business Development – Support new business and/or product lines for the organization's growth
  • Contribute to new marketing initiatives to generate sales leads
  • Mentor others and support their professional growth   

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • ASA or FSA credentials;
  • Minimum of 3 year of healthcare actuarial experience;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Experience with Microsoft® Excel, Access, Power Point and Word;
  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Math or Statistics.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Medicare, Commercial ACA, and/or Medicaid lines of business;
  • Internal or external client management experience;
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft® Excel and Access;
  • Working knowledge of database/statistical analysis language (SQL/SAS);
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
