Overview

Wakely, an HMA company, seeks an experienced Manager to support our Value-Based Payment practice within the VRDC. This role would work closely with Wakely’s rapidly growing and evolving value-based payment practice.

 

We are seeking candidates with deep experience in the following skills and processes, and passion for developing and empowering junior associates in these areas:  

  •        SAS coding
  •        ACO attribution modeling
  •        Claims analytics
  •        Population health analytics and benchmarking
  •        VRDC data exploration

The role is open to being remote as well as in-office at one of Wakely’s office locations such as Denver, Tampa, Minneapolis, Phoenix, New York City, Atlanta, Omaha, or Madison. 

 

Job Summary 

The Data Analytics Manager is responsible for interpreting and analyzing large health care claims data sets and financial data from health care providers.  This involves assisting teams with all phases of implementation including programming, data management and the interpretation of results. This role will also include mentorship and management of more junior analysts to support their deliverables to the team. 

 

Responsibilities

Work Performed and Job Requirements 

  • Assist with complex and critical data/database management initiatives including responsibility for database design, integration, and/or data modeling. 
  • Data ETL, maintenance, reviewing documentation, and communicating key features of the project 
  • Use Microsoft T-SQL and other tools to conduct data analysis, data mining, read and create formal documentation, reports, and address issues. 
  • Responsible for optimizing currently deployed code. 
  • Communicate with project managers and leadership about data changes or requirements. 
  • Extract, analyze and summarize website data by using web crawling tools. 
  • Work with IT to maintain our databases and conduct routine maintenance as needed to ensure data integrity. 
  • Work with team to gain knowledge on new approaches to identify, plan and deploy new capabilities from dashboard to data processes. 
  • Project management for the tasks of more junior analytic staff on the product team. 
  • Improve data aggregation and processes to increase sustainability and efficiency. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education/Training

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, computer science or related field is required. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Master’s degree in a similar field is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience working with health care data required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in the manipulation and evaluation of large data sets of health care claims, managed care encounters and financial information.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of health care policy and data.
  • Skilled with SQL, Python.
  • Creative problem solving towards process optimization.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to delegate when necessary.
  • Highly organized and able to work under tight deadlines.
